2022 NMSAA XC Entry Information

The North Munster Schools Cross-Country Championships will take place at Clarecastle GAA, Ennis, Co Clare, on Thursday 10th February 2022. These are the mandatory qualifiers for the Irish Life Health Munster Schools Cross-Country Championships which will take place in Riverstick, Co Cork on Friday 18th February 2022.

Entry Form and Payment

Entries ONLINE ONLY – the registration link has been emailed to schools. Entries must be made by designated teacher or member of staff responsible for athletics as indicated on the affiliation form.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Submit entries via Webscorer online entry system – link sent by email to schools.
  2. Calculate entry fee (total number of athletes x €3.00)
  3. Include affiliation form & fee (€100) if not yet affiliated. Please refer to the REGISTRATION section of this website for further details.
  4. Make full payment as calculated above at event registration. If you are (re-)affiliating please submit the completed affiliation form at registration time.

IMPORTANT If your school has not affiliated for the 2021-22 athletics season (Sept 2021-Aug 2022) your Cross-Country entry will not be accepted. No affiliation – no participation. Athletes from unaffiliated schools may not participate as they are not covered by insurance.

ENTRIES CLOSE: 6pm THURSDAY 3rd FEBRUARY – strictly NO LATE ENTRIES

RESTRICTIONS: MAX 8 boys per race per school, MAX 6 girls per race per school.

ENTRY FEE: €3.00 per athlete

PAYMENT: Cash or cheque for full amount (including affiliation fee where due) to be paid at registration on the day of the event. Please note the entry fee is based on the number of athletes entered online.

EVENT REGISTRATION

Athlete numbers will be available from 10.30am until 11.30am. In the interests of health and safety all schools must ensure that athletes are accompanied by a teacher or a responsible adult. Athlete numbers will not be released to unaccompanied athletes or to unaffiliated schools. Athletes must display the number on the front of the top/singlet. Athletes must only use the number assigned to them.

Please note only 1 person from each school may collect numbers from registration. Numbers will not be given out individually.

First race 12.00pm SHARP – Minor Girls. Remaining races will follow in sequence Minor Girls, Minor Boys, Junior Girls, Junior Boys, etc. All distances are approximate. Events may be combined or shortened at the discretion of the officials on the day. Please listen carefully to announcements and be warmed up and ready to race in plenty of time.

Teams

  • Girls – team of 6 (max) – 3 to count
  • Boys – team of 8 (max) – 4 to count

Max 1 team per school per age grade. First 3-6 girls / 4-8 boys will constitute a school team.

Rules

  1. An athlete must run in their own age-group except in the team event where one athlete from the age group immediately below may complete a team.
  2. No athlete may run in more than one race
  3. In the event of a tie in the team competition, the last scoring runner who finishes closest to first place shall determine the result.

Medals & Results

Medals will be awarded to the first 3 individuals in each race and to the first 3 teams.
Team medals will be posted out to schools once the team placings have been finalised.

Results will be available on this website once processed and finalised.

Qualification for Irish Life Health Munster Schools Cross-Country

  1. The top 15 runners in each race
  2. The top 4 teams in each race
  3. Qualifiers are automatically entered – no entry fees required
  4. Please notify any withdrawals ASAP
